2008 RHIC & AGS Annual Users' Meeting

May 27-30, 2008

The 2008 Users' Meeting will be held from May 27 to May 30, 2008 at
Brookhaven National Laboratory. The first day, Tuesday (May 27) will
have workshops on RHIC science, which will run in parallel and will
highlight the recent results from RHIC experiments. The science of
RHIC II and accelerator technology that will make it possible, will be the
focus of the second day (Wednesday, May 28) with a
special symposium on the
topic.

Invited speakers from around the world will assess the impact
of what has been done so far at RHIC and what is expected from RHIC II.
On Thursday (May 29), we will present the operational highlights from the
most recent run-8 of RHIC experiments and the accelerator along with
presentations from the Funding Agencies. A special event for
diversity in physics is being planned the evening of Thursday, May 29. The
last day of the meeting, Friday (May 30), will focus on Users' concerns,
discussion, open forum, and the
Users' Executive Committee activities -
including election results.
The Users' Executive Committee (UEC) welcomes participation in the
poster session to be held during
this meeting and invites you to join them at dinner
on Wednesday evening at
Majestic
Gardens, Rocky Point, New York. Also, three
awards
will be given at the meeting this year to recognize the most outstanding thesis
related to research conducted at the RHIC or AGS facilities.
