Meeting Location
The sessions will be held in the Large Seminar Room located in the Physics Building (Bldg. 510).

Poster Session
A poster session will be held at Berkner Hall.

Building 488, Berkner Hall, is the Laboratory’s main conference and cafeteria building. It houses the largest auditorium on site, as well as four other meeting rooms, a large dining room and a patio for outside dining. The BERA Store is located in this building and is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for employees and guests interested in purchasing BNL souvenirs, theater tickets, phone cards, tee shirts and other sundries. Access to BNL
Arrive early, at least one hour prior to the event.

  • GIS Registration Information for Non-U.S. Citizens - If you are a Foreign National, you must also complete the BNL Guest Information Form for Non-U.S. Citizens as indicated on the registration form before they will allow you access to the site. Registering in the BNL Guest Information System (GIS) does not automatically register you for this event.
  • If you have a valid BNL ID badge, stay in the LEFT LANE as you enter BNL. To be valid, the date on the bottom of your ID badge must be current.
  • If you do not have a BNL badge or it's expired, stay in the RIGHT LANE as you enter BNL. Inform the guard you are attending theInternational Conference on Strong and Electroweak Matter 2006. You may be requested to check in at the security trailer. A photo ID is required. Allow sufficient time for gate check-in. You may experience delays due to meeting attendance and the usual morning traffic.

Conference Desk Check-In
All attendees, including workshop speakers and organizers, MUST check-in at the Conference Desk in the lobby of the Physics Building (Bldg. 510) to pick up their personalized meeting badge (to be worn at all times while onsite), meeting packet and meal tickets. Do not go directly to any meeting or session until you have checked in at the Conference Desk. The meeting badge is required to access breakout sessions, meetings and to regain access to BNL if you drive offsite. All information pertinent to the meeting and workshops will be in your packet together with paid receipts and credit card slips. There will assistants at each workshop location verifying attendance. Program Changes
Any changes to the program for the meeting or workshops will be posted online. Go to the Event Homepage and click on Agenda.

Receiving Messages from your office
Messages can be left for you at the Conference Desk. For the duration of the breakout sessions and meeting only, the telephone number (631) 344-3283 or 3873. Messages will be posted on a bulletin board in front of the Large Seminar Room lobby of the Physics Building (Bldg. 510).

Computer Access
Three computer terminals are located in Berkner Hall (Bldg. 488) for internet access or accessing your email during the meeting. You may also use the network jacks to connect your own laptop.

Faxing Documents
A fax machine is located in Berkner Hall (Bldg. 488) for those who require faxing services. The phone number is (631) 344-5568.

Transportation Onsite
If you require transportation while at BNL, the options are:

  • Onsite Shuttle (limited service)
  • Enterprise Rental Car (located onsite at BNL): Call (631) 344-4888 for discounted rates, cars available for less than half day (or more), students availability.
  • Taxi Service (for destinations to/from BNL)
