Formed in 1998 to advise the Laboratory Director on selected issues, particularly on the environment, safety, and health, it is the intent of the Laboratory that the Community Advisory Council (CAC) represents a diverse range of interests and values of individuals and groups who are interested in or affected by the actions of the Laboratory.
The CAC consists of representatives from 24 local business, civic, education, environment, employee, government, and health organizations. The CAC sets its own agenda, brings forth issues important to the community, and works to provide consensus recommendations to Laboratory management. Meetings are held virtually at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the months of: March, April, May, September, October, and November. The link to join the Zoom meeting will be posted on the Laboratory's Calendar of Events page.
CAC meetings are open to the public and interested community members are encouraged to attend. An opportunity for public comment is offered at each meeting. New members are welcome. Please attend a meeting to learn more.
