Talk Title: MHRA approach to innovation in clinical trials
Andrea joined the MHRA in June 2023 as Deputy Director of Clinical Investigations and Trials. His ambition is to facilitate regulatory change, making the UK one of the best places for sponsors and patients to conduct clinical research. Andrea has over 30 years of international experience as an academic, consultant, and entrepreneur in the healthcare sector. Before working at the MHRA, he was at the University of Lancashire (UK) as the Faculty Director of Research and Innovation in the Faculty of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences and Chair Professor of Pharmacy Practice, where he led the conceptualisation and development of clinical trials in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and health services research. Andrea still holds a visiting professor position at the University of Lancashire.
