Arnau Montagud

Talk Title: Advances towards the Virtual Human Twin at BSC

Arnau Montagud is a researcher specializing in computational systems biology, with a focus on personalized biomedical and biotechnological modelling. He is currently a Tenured Researcher at CSIC and a Visiting Researcher at BSC. His work leverages mathematical and computational tools to create multiscale models that integrate multi-omics patient data, simulating cellular behaviours within complex environments and uncovering personalized medical treatments. Montagud is known for optimizing high-performance computational frameworks to enable large-scale biological simulations, which are crucial for studying phenomena like cancer invasion, metabolic networks in cyanobacteria, and drug-target identification for diseases such as COVID-19. His projects often merge Boolean modelling, agent-based simulations, and data integration, aiming to uncover actionable insights for targeted therapies and biotechnological applications. He has contributed to international research projects at leading institutions, including Institut Curie, CSIC and BSC.
