Arnau Montagud
Talk Title: Advances towards the Virtual Human Twin at BSC
Arnau Montagud is a researcher specializing in computational systems biology, with a focus on personalized biomedical and biotechnological modelling. He is currently a Tenured Researcher at CSIC and a Visiting Researcher at BSC. His work leverages mathematical and computational tools to create multiscale models that integrate multi-omics patient data, simulating cellular behaviours within complex environments and uncovering personalized medical treatments. Montagud is known for optimizing high-performance computational frameworks to enable large-scale biological simulations, which are crucial for studying phenomena like cancer invasion, metabolic networks in cyanobacteria, and drug-target identification for diseases such as COVID-19. His projects often merge Boolean modelling, agent-based simulations, and data integration, aiming to uncover actionable insights for targeted therapies and biotechnological applications.
