Talk Title: 12 Labours-Enabling development and clinical translation of virtual human twins
Short Talk Description: Presents our latest developments for the 12 Labours DigitalTWINS platform that provides shared infrastructure for running computational workflows across research and clinical environments.
Dr. Thiranja Prasad Babarenda Gamage is a Senior Research Fellow at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI), where he leads the Clinical Translational Technologies Group. His work is focused on creating data-centric engineering technologies and infrastructure to integrate computational physiology models into clinical practice. A primary initiative under his leadership is the development of the 12 Labours Digital.TWINS platform, which aims to accelerate the translation of digital twins for healthcare applications.
Dr. Babarenda Gamage also co-leads the ABI Breast Biomechanics Research Group, collaborating with clinicians to improve breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. His research contributions extend to the ABI’s cardiac and lung mechanics programs. His expertise spans the development and validation of computational physiology workflows, patient-specific biomechanical modelling, finite element analysis, and medical image processing and computer vision.
