"Static interquark potential from Euclidean and real-time lattices"

Presented by Alexander Rothkopf

Thursday, March 24, 2022, 9:30 am — Videoconference / Virtual Event (see link below)

Abstract: The potential acting between static color sources is an central ingredient in our understanding of strongly interacting matter under extreme temperatures. It is of particular interest to the modeling of heavy-quarkonium particles, where it represents the first step in a systematic approximation of the dynamics of heavy-quark bound states with finite mass. In this talk I will report on recent results in extracting this potential from both conventional lattice QCD simulations in Euclidean time and from classical statistical simulations which are formulated directly in Minkowski time.
