"Lepton Flavor Portal Matter"

Presented by Lisa Everett, UW Madison

Thursday, May 25, 2023, 11:00 am — Small Seminar Room, Bldg. 510

bstract: Within the kinetic mixing/vector portal framework for light dark matter, the presence of portal matter fields, which are charged under both the Standard Model and dark gauge groups, not only allow for a finite and calculable kinetic mixing parameter, but also lead to distinctive collider phenomenology. This talk will focus on model-building directions in this setting in which the portal matter mixes nontrivially with the muon and tau leptons, both for a simple Abelian dark gauge group and in a non-Abelian extension based on a SU(2)xSU(2) dark gauge group. Such models can allow for a resolution of the potential muon anomalous magnetic moment discrepancy and provide a rich collider phenomenology that is particularly well-suited for exploration at a future muon collider.
