"On the phase structure of QCD"

Presented by Jan M. Pawlowski, Heidelberg University

Thursday, July 27, 2023, 12:30 pm — Bldg. 510, Room 2-160

Abstract: In this talk two related aspects of the phase structure of QCD are discussed. The first aspect concerns the emergence of quasi-massless modes in the vicinity of the chiral phase transition line that is at the root of the chiral dynamics close to the transition. The second one concerns the location and the nature of the onset regime of new physics (e.g. a critical end point or the onset of an inhomogeneous regime) within a combination of experimental measurements and theoretical predictions of fluctuations of conserved charges.
