"Calculation of the nucleon electric dipole moments on lattice"

Presented by Dr. Fangcheng He, Stony Brook University

Thursday, October 26, 2023, 12:30 pm — Bldg. 510, Room 2-160

Abstract: The measurements of nucleon and nuclei Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs) play an important role in probing CP violation and exploring physics beyond the Standard Model. In this talk, I will discuss our recent calculations of nucleon theta EMDs using background electric field. We extract neutron EMDs by measuring the energy shift of 2pt correlation function in the presence of background field. The UV divergence of topological charge operator are mitigated using gradient flow. After extrapolating to the physical point, our results are consistent with the results of other groups.
