Abstract: In this talk I will briefly introduce SMEFT framework to interpret LHC data, then move to discuss its limitations and ways to overcome them. We will focus on a class of scenarios, with Dark Matter candidates, which can be used as a basis to extend SMEFT searches in top physics.
