"Lattice Study of Quarks in Quark-Gluon Plasma"

Presented by Masakiyo Kitazawa, BNL - RBRC

Tuesday, March 20, 2007, 11:00 am — Small Seminar Room, Bldg. 510

We investigate the dynamical behavior of the quark propagator above the critical temperature of the deconfinement phase transition in quenched lattice QCD with the improved Wilson fermions. We analyze the mass dependence of the quark spectral function in Landau gauge by varying the bare quark mass and using a two-pole approximation. It is shown that the quark spectral function has two collective modes correspoding to the normal and plasmino excitations in the chiral limit, while it is dominated by a single-pole structure when the bare quark mass becomes heavier.
