"From quarks to nuclei to compact stars and back"

Presented by Mannque Rho, CEA, France

Tuesday, October 28, 2008, 3:30 pm — Large Seminar Room, Bldg. 510

A long-standing effort to go from quarks to nucleons to nuclei to hadrons under extreme conditions such as expected in the interior of compact stars will be described in terms of spontaneous breaking -- and restoration -- of chiral symmetry and associated anomalies in the strong interactions of light-quark systems.
