Physics Colloquium

"Shedding (some) light on dark matter"

Presented by Daniel Boyanovsky, University of Pittsburgh

Tuesday, March 24, 2009, 3:30 pm — Large Seminar Room, Bldg. 510

I will review the observational evidence for dark matter and describe some of the physics of galaxy formation and clustering for collisionless dark matter. I will describe the different proposals: cold, warm, hot and particle physics candidates. Direct and indirect searches will be described and some (intriguing) recent results will be discussed.
