"Tests of Intrinsic Charm and Other Novel QCD Phenomena at RHIC"

A remarkable and novel feature of QCD is the presence of intrinsic charm and bottom Fock states at high $x$ in the light-front wavefunction of the proton. I will discuss the implications of IC and IB for RHIC physics, including the hadroproduction of heavy quarkonium and open charm and bottom hadrons at large $x_F$. Intrinsic heavy quarks can explain the anomalous non-factorized nuclear target dependence of $J/\psi$ production in nuclear collisions, and it also has implications for Higgs production at high $x_F$ at the Tevatron and the LHC. The role of direct color transparent QCD processes in explaining the baryon anomaly at RHIC will also be discussed.
