"Search for Microscopic Black Hole Signatures at the Large Hadron Collider"

Presented by Ka Vang Tsang, Brown University

Thursday, June 23, 2011, 3:00 pm — Small Seminar Room, Bldg. 510

One of the most dramatic consequences of TeV-scale quantum gravity in extra dimensions is the production of microscopic black holes at LHC. Events with multiple high-energy particles are typical signatures from the Hawking radiation of these black holes. I will present the search conducted by CMS Collaboration, which gives the first direct limits on black hole production at a particle accelerator.
