Nuclear Physics Seminar

"Drell-Yan at RHIC"

Presented by Hank Crawford, Space Sciences Lab, UC Berkeley

Tuesday, July 26, 2011, 11:00 am — Small Seminar Room, Bldg. 510

DY measurements at RHIC can provide a direct indication of the attractive and repulsive nature of the color force. DY leptons can also be used to probe the parton distribution functions of nuclei. We have recently been approved to perform a first investigation of DY production from polarized proton collisions at root(s)=500 GeV at IP2 and I will report on our current status.
