"Photons as a probe of both isotropic and anisotropic QGP"

Presented by Lusaka Bhattacharya, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata, India

Tuesday, August 2, 2011, 11:00 am — Small Seminar Room, Bldg. 510

The important tasks are to confirm the formation of QGP, the new state of de-confined quarks and gluons in relativistic heavy-ion collisions and characterize its different properties. The main difficulties in detection of QGP are due to its small volume and short lifetime. As a result, direct detection of QGP is extremely difficult. Nevertheless, during last few years several in-detect probes have been proposed to detect the signature and characteristics QGP. Photons are one of the probes among them. In this talk we will discuss about the photons as a probe of both isotropic and anisotropic QGP.
