"'Microscopes and Biomolecules in the Toy Box'"

As scientist and educator Dr. Zeri will discuss the use of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) techniques in the study of cancer, bacterial growth, and pathogen defense mechanisms. Winner of the renowned Eisenhower Fellowship to enhance STEM education programs Dr Zeri will present her activities to enhance STEM education programs for low-income girls in Brazil. She is also interested in the portrayal of women and girls in the media, and how this impacts their career aspirations. She will also share her experiences and challenges as a woman in Science. Refreshments will be available before the talk at 4:00 p.m.
