The method of matrix product states (MPS), as one of the tensor-network (TN) approaches, has been shown to be applicable to study 1+1 dimensional quantum field theories in the canonical formalism. In this talk, I present our work on the massive Thirring model using the MPS technique. Our work shows that the MPS method can be used to identify a Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transition in the Thirring model. I will also discuss our exploratory results for real-time dynamics and dynamical phase transition.
