"Logarithmic soft graviton theorem from asymptotic symmetries"

Presented by Laura Donnay

Thursday, January 18, 2024, 11:00 am — Small Seminar Room, Bldg. 510

Abstract: Soft graviton theorems were recently shown to receive one-loop contributions that are logarithmic in the energy of the soft graviton. After a review of the deep connection between soft theorems and asymptotic symmetries, I will show that these logarithmic corrections are encoded in the Ward identity of the so-called superrotation symmetries of asymptotically flat spacetimes.
