National Synchrotron Light Source Seminar

"MX2 - The Macromolecular Crystallography Wiggler Beamline at the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory"

Presented by Lucas Sanfelici, Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory, LNLS

Tuesday, May 8, 2007, 10:30 am — Seminar Room, Bldg. 725

The MX2, raised in the 1.37GeV Brazilian storage ring, was designed and constructed in order to provide high flux and resolution at 1Å. Its optical layout consists of a cylindrical collimating mirror, a flat Si(111) double crystal monochromator, and a toroidal bendable mirror. Beam monitoring devices such as copper-blade monitors, double wire monitors and a quadrant photodiodes monitor are under tests and were designed to provide beam position and shape diagnosis, allowing the improvement of the beam stability in the near future. This seminar will present the beamline and the commissioning results obtained up to now.
