NSLS-II Seminar

"Implementation of SNS Linac RF control"

Presented by Hengjie Ma

Monday, July 16, 2007, 9:30 am — NSLS-II Seminar Room, Bldg. 817

The initial implementation of SNS linac rf control system involves the planning of rf phase reference scheme, choosing and designing proper digital hardware, as well as developing the basic digital control and signal processing algorithms. After the successful development and commissioning of the system, the dynamic control issues were studied and the control methods were improved to better handle the needs of the superconducting linac rf. To the date, the low-level rf system has demonstrated good reliability and performance in support of linac operations, and the experience from the daily operation continues to reveal the needs for further improvement in various areas.
