"Advanced Fluorescence Microscopies at the Center for Functional Nanomaterials at BNL"

Presented by Mircea Cotlet, BNL Center for Functional Nanomaterials

Friday, June 13, 2008, 11:00 am — John Dunn Seminar Room, Bldg. 463

The Center for Functional Nanomaterials at BNL has recently finished setting up several state of the art fluorescence microscopes including a multiphoton laser scanning fluorescence microscope, a total internal fluorescence microscope and a time and spectrally resolved single molecule fluorescence microscope . The mission of this advanced microscopy facility is to provide internal and external users with a suite of fluorescence methods including facility, instruments and training for biology and material science oriented projects. In this talk I will briefly introduce the instruments and methods we have set up in CFN, with several specific biological examples and detail the process of becoming a CFN user.
