Thursday, May 10, 2012, 3:00 pm — Small Seminar Room, Bldg. 510
I will present the most recent D0 and CDF W mass measurements. I will describe the measurement methods, calibration strategies, results and combination of results. I will specifically discuss the details of the
D0 measurement and the experimental challenges that had to be overcome. I will discuss the some theoretical and phenomenological aspects of the uncertainties in the W mass measurement. Finally, I will show the implications of the new world average for the indirect measurements of the Higgs mass.
