General Lab Information

The Department of Energy is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in the United States. In light of developing circumstances and growing concern about the spread of the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19), Brookhaven National Laboratory's (BNL) Elementary School Science Fair will be held virtually!

What is the Science Fair?

The goal of the Science Fair is to generate an interest in and excitement about science and engineering for all ages. This contest provides an opportunity for students to showcase their projects to peers and judging teams consisting of Brookhaven National Laboratory scientific and engineering staff and elementary school teachers. Students will gain experience using science and engineering practices, as well as the scientific method or engineering design process (see project requirements and judging criteria for more information).
