Project Requirements

The project requirements are also available as a PDF file.

All Submitted Projects Must Have:

1. Completed Summary of Project form
   • A PDF file or JPG image of this completed document will be requested on the registration form
2. NO identifiable information (no student name, no school name, no photos of student's face)
   • Note: If you have photos on your project that show your face, simply cover your face with a small piece of paper so that the rest of the photo is visible
3. Standard cardboard project board (36” x 48”) with all the information listed in the Judging Criteria
   • Several JPG images of this board will be requested on the registration form
     • 1 image of the whole board
     • 1 image of the left fold
     • 1 image of the center fold
     • 1 image of the right fold
     • Up to 3 images of pages from the student journal (optional)
     • Up to 2 images of any other materials the student would like to share (optional)
4. We will also be accepting boards created using presentation software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides. Note that these projects must be no more than 15 slides and must be saved as a PDF before submitting.
   • A PDF submission of this type of project would be provided on the registration form instead of several photos of a cardboard project board
   • The following JPG images can also be added to this type of project
     • Up to 3 images of pages from the student journal (optional)
     • Up to 2 images of any other materials the student would like to share (optional)

A Note on Group Projects

Projects by more than on student are only accepted for grades K–2. The size of the group is limited to one class (note that a.m. and p.m. kindergarten taught by the same teachers can be considered one class).

Registration Information

Your school's science fair coordinator must complete the registration form for their school science fair winners. Students and parents cannot submit projects to be judged in the Science Fair on their own.
