Visit Justification: Attend US ATLAS ITk Workshop 2024 – The ATLAS experiment is being performed by over 3000 scientists from 39 countries from around the world at the Large Hadron Collider located at CERN. ATLAS is addressing the leading questions in particle physics; what gives particles their mass, what is the source of dark energy, and are there extra dimensions? BNL hosts the largest ATLAS Tier 1 Computing Facility of the 10 sites in the world providing computing to the 44 US institutions working on ATLAS. Guests who visit BNL and those who remotely use BNL computers collaboratively work on the physics analysis from ATLAS data. The Laboratory and the US government will benefit from the discoveries and precision measurements which this collaboration is likely to make by facilitating this collaboration.
