Irish Rock Band The Prodigals to Perform at Brookhaven Lab March 6
February 6, 2009
UPTON, NY – The Irish rock band The Prodigals will give a concert at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory on Friday, March 6, at 8:00 p.m. at the Brookhaven Center. Sponsored by the BNL Music Club, the concert is open to the public. All visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.
The Prodigals are considered to be one of the most successful bands to emerge from the East-Coast Irish scene. While the band members largely grew up in Ireland, their current roots are in Manhattan. The band’s set list includes a variety of original funky and energetic Celtic songs. They have played in venues throughout the United States – Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, and Maine – as well as in Canada and Germany. In addition to entertaining the audience with guitars and percussion, these musicians enliven their performance with banjo and button accordion.
Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased through www.ticketweb.com. Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. For more information call 631 344-3846.
