Brookhaven’s world-renowned research facilities are open to the private sector, academia, and other agencies for research and development work. Our staff can provide expertise and help solve a wide range of challenges in fields such as energy, environment, data science, medicine, and nuclear science technology.
Licensable Technologies
Our cutting-edge technologies are available for licensing to the private sector—including start-up companies—to develop these early-stage innovations into commercial products. Our Office of Technology Transfer is staffed with business professionals who understand the needs and challenges faced by industry and are motivated to facilitate the licensing process.
Small Businesses
Small businesses are encouraged to seek partnership opportunities with us. Investigate all the various federal and state-supported programs for which you may qualify including the New York Small Business Administration and the Long Island High Technology Incubator. They can help with business plans, marketing, or with providing an affordable laboratory or business facility.
