The Quantum Information Science Career Fair aims to bring awareness to the wide range of QIS internships and careers available to college students, postdocs, and faculty — from scientific and engineering roles to supporting business roles that facilitate research objectives. Reaching the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science’s goal to meet future scientific challenges with a diversified, trained workforce will be critical, and the QIS Career Fair will address this need by creating opportunities for jobseekers, policy and decision makers, and hiring organizations to converge.

Participants will hear from experts in government, academia, and industry on the QIS market overview, get their questions answered, build their professional networks, and meet one-on-one with potential employers. The event will showcase jobs available at national laboratories, academic institutions, and industry.

National Quantum Information Science Research Centers

National Quantum Information Science Research Centers (NQISRCs), funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science, are accelerating transformational advances in basic science and quantum-based technologies needed to assure continued U.S. leadership in quantum information science. The NQISRCs are driving the growth of the nation’s quantum workforce.

Through workshops, internships, fellowships, and postdoctoral and visiting-faculty appointments, the centers train tomorrow’s quantum scientists, engineers, technicians, and supporting team members. By actively engaging students and young researchers in world-leading R&D, the centers are helping to ensure a vibrant quantum community in the U.S. for decades to come.

C2QA Co-Design Center for Quantum Advantage leads the organization of the QIS Career Fair alongside co-leaders Q-NEXT and QSA. All five DOE-funded NQISRCs contribute to planning the event.
