Adam Corrao is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Hard X-ray Methods Program at the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II). He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Stony Brook University in 2024, where he used synchrotron powder diffraction to study the structural, chemical, and morphological evolution of nanomaterials and developed advanced whole-pattern fitting methods for diffraction analysis. At NSLS-II, he builds experimental and computational infrastructure for automated and autonomous materials characterization. His current work includes modular human-AI workflows for multi-modal and multi-beamline synchrotron experiments, and the development of a programmatic Rietveld refinement engine designed to make powder diffraction analysis scalable, composable, and AI-compatible.
