Since 2011 Alexey Suvorov has been actively involved in designing, constructing, and commissioning the Inelastic X-ray Scattering (IXS) beamline at the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II). The IXS beamline spectrometer is a unique instrument designed to explore new research frontiers in vibrational dynamics and exotic excitations in condensed matter systems. As an IXS beamline scientist, Alexey's primary task is to support the operation and development of the IXS spectrometer.

Expertise

Expertise

Alexey Suvorov has vast expertise in dynamical crystal diffraction, x-ray focusing, and imaging optics. From the early beginning, he participated in the research and development of the Bragg-Fresnel and Compound Refractive Lenses. As a previous member of Optics Groups of the ESRF and Spring-8, he gained broad experience working with synchrotron radiation and instrumentation. The development of novel types of IXS spectrometers is the focus of his current research.
