Carol Clontz is a seasoned professional in the field of Export and Trade Compliance. She joined the Export Control Group at Brookhaven National Laboratory in September 2022. Carol is set to provide valuable support to the team and chart a course towards enhanced export compliance and excellence.
The Export Compliance Office is responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance with a range of authorities including the Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the Department of Treasury (OFAC).
The primary mission of the Export Control Office is to ensure that Brookhaven National Laboratory maintains compliance with its export activities and also serves as a valuable educational resource for BNL employees seeking guidance on matters related to imports and exports.
Carol brings with her an extensive background of over 34 years in Export and Trade Compliance, spanning diverse sectors such as defense, space, commercial and freight forwarding industries.
