At the NSLS II, Bob is the Safety Officer in charge of configuration control issues, including first contact for Safety System Work Permits for both shielding and interlock (PPS) work. Bob is also the Independent Reviewer for work planning within Light Source II. He is also first contact for Emergency Planning and, in addition, is involved in the certification of the Personnel Protective Systems (PPS) for both accelerators and beamlines at the NSLS II facility.
Expertise
Bob has over 35 years of experience at BNL and is a Supervisor of professional staff. Throughout his career he has worked at the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron, the NSLS, NSLS II, and currently is with the Safety and Health Services Division deployed to the NSLS II. The current role as Safety Officer combines many years of experience in operational oversight, configuration control, emergency response and work planning.
