Donnie is a programmer working for the National Nuclear Data Center (NNDC). He works as a full-stack developer and contributes to multiple projects at the NNDC. He primarily focuses on modernizing web applications by improving the efficiency and robustness of backend operations. He aims to create user-friendly services and technologies through UX design with an intuitive experience for the end user through utilizing modern front-end website architectures. Donnie specializes in data visualization techniques and he is constantly broadening his skillset in order to develop new and novel applications.

Donnie began as a SURP/SULI intern at the National Nuclear Data Center under the guidance of his mentors, Elizabeth McCutchan and Alejandro Sonzogni. His project was modernizing NuDat, the primary web application to visualize and access recommended nuclear structure and decay data from the Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF). The original NuDat, while an invaluable resource for the Physics community, had delayed user interactions and required a major update. Donnie implemented a feature rich fully interactive chart of nuclides with responsive controls during his internship. After interning with the NNDC for a year, Donnie was hired as full-time staff at the NNDC where he continues his work developing and modernizing web applications.
