Feng is currently working on NSLS-II storage ring superconductiong cavities. He used to work at the NSLS synchrotron facility, the SDL free-electron-laser machine (FEL) as well as the ultrafast electron diffraction stand (UED).  In 2009, Feng joined NSLS after earning his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.  From 2005 to 2008, as a graduate appointee, he worked for Argonne National Laboratory’s High Energy Physics Division on high-power RF and millimeter-wave generation and extraction using the wakefield effect of an intense electron beam. 

Feng has many hobbies, among which at the top are repairing vintage cameras, black and white photography and metalworking.

Feng's interests include accelerator RF design, dielectric-loaded acceleration, wakefield generation and extraction, electromagnetic field analysis, superconducting RF, etc.
