Expertise

Jonathan has extensive experience developing ultra-high vacuum capital equipment for the semi conductor industry. In his previous position as a Mechanical Engineer at Veeco instruments, Jonathan designed several assemblies to support the generation and steering of ion beams for etching and sputter-deposition machines. He also designed and upgraded several wafer handling systems for improved performance and reliability. Each of these system required the consideration of ultra-high vacuum requirements, heat generation, background sputtered material, and electrical insulation. Prior to working at Veeoc instruments, Jonathan worked in a few different roles in the Aerospace Industry and has gained significant experience with gearing, carbon fiber, and MatLab programming.
