Physicist, Industrial Liaison Officer, ALD's Office, Energy and Photon Sciences Directorate
Jun Wang is the Industrial Liaison Officer to manage the industrial research at the Energy and Photon Science Directorate at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). She is working closely with industrial researchers as well as BNL staff to identify and explore new opportunities in industrial applications using capabilities and expertise at BNL.
Jun Wang received Ph.D in Physics from the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1993. Her expertise covers wide range x-ray techniques such as thin film x-ray diffraction and reflectivity, powder diffraction, small-angle and wide-angle x-ray scattering, protein solution scattering and protein crystallography, as well as x-ray nano-imaging and nano-tomography. Wang held a number of professional positions including group leader, lead beamline scientist, x-ray nano-imaging Principal Investigator and spokesperson. She served on several review and advisory committees, as chair and organizers for workshops, and as supervisor for postdocs, students, and staff. She has over 200 publications and numerous invited talks.
Wang is well-known for her research in synchrotron-based x-ray applications, particularly in battery research using x-ray nano-imaging and tomography. She has been developing and managing the industrial research program since 2008.
