Expertise
Kevin Smith is the EIC Technical Systems Division (TSD) Deputy Director. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering (1988) and an MS in Electrophysics (1991) from the Polytechnic Institute of New York. Kevin joined BNL in 1988 and has been involved in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of accelerator systems for 32 years. Prior to assuming his current EIC role, he most recently served as Deputy Head of Collider-Accelerator RF Systems, SRF Group Leader and LLRF Head. Kevin was recognized in 2012 with a BNL Engineering Award for Outstanding Achievement. He has participated in numerous technical reviews for high performance electronic systems for the LCLS-II and FRIB projects. He also remains active in the worldwide accelerator LLRF community and serves on the Scientific Program Committee of the LLRF Workshop.
