Scott Bronson is the manager of Pre-College Programs for Brookhaven National Laboratory's (BNL) Office of Educational Programs (OEP). Before coming to BNL, Mr. Bronson was the Education Coordinator of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory's DNA Learning Center. He has a strong background in developing and commercializing laboratory science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) curriculum for middle school, high school, and undergraduate faculty and students. For his work in developing educational laboratory science kits, the Battelle Memorial Institute recognized Mr. Bronson as Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Inventor of the Year, 2006. The Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the New York State Foundation for Science, Technology, and Innovation (NYSTAR), have funded his science workforce development and education initiatives. Mr. Bronson has extensive experience in several federally and privately funded national STEM teacher and student training programs. Additionally, Mr. Bronson has taught molecular biology teacher workshops in Singapore for the Singapore Ministry of Education. He has appeared on PBS for Scientific Frontiers- The Gene Hunters and the award-winning documentary Race- The Power of an Illusion. In 2014, Mr. Bronson was named “Outstanding Advocate for Science & Technology” by the Science Museum of Long Island.Today he is developing multidiscipline STEM educational programs that bring the cutting edge research of Brookhaven National Laboratory to students and faculty.
