Kunal Shroff

Kunal Shroff is the Controls Software Technical Lead for the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). With over 17 years of experience at NSLS-II, Kunal works on maintaining and advancing the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) software, which supports essential operations across the facility’s experimental infrastructure.

Kunal serves as the lead developer of the Phoebus toolkit and the core architect of the EPICS middle layer services. This technology stack enables scientists and engineers to efficiently monitor, control, and streamline operations across NSLSII.

Kunal is passionate about fostering collaboration and community within the scientific and engineering domains. He is an active organizer of events such as the EPICS Codeathons and various Collaboration meetings, bringing together professionals from diverse international backgrounds to drive forward the development of EPICS software.
