16th Annual Dr. Mow Shiah Lin Scholarship Award Ceremony

The BNL Asian Pacific American Association (APAA) established this scholarship to commemorate the life and career of Dr. Lin, who was a distinguished scientist at the Energy Sciences and Technology Department. In honor of Dr. Lin's research, remarkable achievements, and inventions, this scholarship is granted annually to a student of Asian heritage with a U.S. student visa matriculating toward a doctorate in Environmental & Energy Technology, Biology, or Chemistry at an accredited institution of higher education on Long Island, including Brooklyn and Queens, in remembrance of the manner in which Dr. Lin began his career. Four awards were presented this year of $2,000 each to graduate students Erwei Huang, Shruti Iyer, Bingchen Li, and Sha Tan who are pursuing doctoral degrees at Stony Brook University.
