John P. McDaniel

Chief Innovation & Digital Transformation Officer, Healthcare IT Leaders

John McDaniel is an acknowledged industry thought leader on healthcare’s digital transformation and consumer-centric care delivery. He offers a unique perspective from 50+ years in health IT working for and with leading health systems, vendors, and consultancies. Most recently, John was EVP, Innovation and Technology with HCI group, where he advised C-level healthcare executives and led engagements helping design and implement digital healthcare solutions for hospitals and health systems around the world.

John has also held varied executive management and consultative positions with leaders in cloud, High Performance Computing and infrastructure services, such as NetApp and Dell Perot Systems, and with health IT software companies, Siemens and McKesson.

He is a past healthcare CIO—St Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers and McLaren Health—and past Director of Clinical Informatics at Emory Healthcare where he architected and oversaw the development of the first multi-hospital HER. John is a keynote speaker at National and Regional healthcare conferences and frequently presents at large, international healthcare events. He is a graduate of Wright State University (BS/BA in Accounting/Economics and MBA).
