Core Facility Revitalization (CFR) Project
The Core Facility Revitalization (CFR) Project is a DOE funded Science Laboratories Infrastructure (SLI) project projected to start in FY17. The CFR Mission Need is to provide computational and data storage facilities for current and planned HEP/NP experiments at RHIC and the ATLAS detector at CERN. A capability gap exists at the existing RHIC ATLAS Computing Facility to meet power, cooling, and reliability requirements of modern computing.
