Motivation
The Synchrotron Environmental Science (SES) Symposium is hosted by the National Synchrotron Light Source-II (NSLS-II) and the Center for Biomolecular Structure (CBMS).
This Symposium will unite leading experts in synchrotron radiation research and environmental science to foster dialogue, collaboration, and innovation. The 8th SES Symposium focuses on the complex interplay amongst and between hydrologic, geomorphic, geochemical and biological processes and how this dynamic near-surface environment responds to change.
Topics will include problems of high societal impact within research focused on the “Critical Zone”, hydrologic cycle, soil science and ecology, geochemistry and geomicrobiology, and critical elements.
This year’s program features a diverse array of invited and contributed talks, updates on cutting-edge facilities, a sponsor banquet, an exclusive tour of NSLS-II beamlines, a vibrant poster session, and exhibits highlighting new technologies and instrumentation.
