Illuminating the Links Between Environmental Science and Human Health

This meeting will be held as an in-person event.

Motivation

The Synchrotron Environmental Science Symposium (SES-7), is dedicated to bringing together experts from synchrotron radiation research and environmental science. It will promote the dialogue, discussion and collaboration among these scientists. The emphasis of the symposium shall be on identifying opportunities for research in environmental science while illuminating the links to human health, using new developments in synchrotron science.

NSLS-II Facility Tour
Participants will be able to tour the National Synchrotron Light Source II on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 4:00 PM. Note, the tour will not cost any funding.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

The instructions below will guide you through the abstract submission process.

How to Submit An Abstract

  1. Please read and follow all abstract submission guidelines shown below.
    • Your abstract text should be no more than one page, including references and images.
    • Only use standard abbreviations.
    • Your abstract should clearly and where applicable concisely outline the Background, Aims/Objectives, Methods, Findings and Conclusions.
    • Download and complete the SES-7 abstract submission template in Step 2, then move on to Step 3 and submit your abstract.
    • The final decision oral or poster presentations will be made by the program committee.

  3. Submit an abstract using the button below. Prior to submission, please make sure you have the following information:

    • Your email address.
    • A single page abstract based on the above template in Step 2.
    Allabstracts must be submitted online by August 11, 2017. All applicants will receive notification of acceptance by September 15, 2017.

On behalf of the local Organizing Committee we invite you to participate as a Sponsor or Exhibitor at the Synchrotron Environmental Science Symposium 7: Illuminating the Links Between Environmental Science and Human Health (SES-7) on October 30–November 1, 2017.

SES-7 is dedicated to bringing together experts from synchrotron radiation research and environmental science. It will promote the dialogue, discussion and collaboration among these scientists. The emphasis of the symposium shall be on identifying opportunities for research in environmental science while illuminating the links to human health, using new developments in synchrotron science.

Exhibit Layout and Hours

The exhibition space will be set up in the Physics Department's large seminar lounge area in building 510. The poster session will be held in the NSLS-II lobby area in building 740. The exhibition will be fully integrated into the symposium activities.

Exhibition Timeline

  • Exhibitor Setup
    Monday, October 30, 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Exhibitor setup should be complete by 12:00 PM.
  • Exhibition Hall Open
    Monday, October 30, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
    Tuesday, October 31, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
    Wednesday, November 1, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Booth Dismantling
    Wednesday, November 1, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Exhibitor Registration Fees and Amenities

Exhibitor Space ($2000 US): Includes 6' x 2.5' table/area (tabletops should not exceed 6' in length, including the table); wireless internet access at the booth; one (1) symposium registration (includes welcome reception, coffee breaks,(3) lunches, evening dinner, NSLS-II facility tour, and symposium materials) and recognition on the symposium website.

Space is limited, so act quickly. When you register as an exhibitor, the information provided will be included in your company profile form and will contain the information necessary to meet your exhibit requirements at the meeting and for advertising purposes. To insure that you get your space please submit payment as early as possible. Tables will be assigned when payment is received.

Important Notes:

  • Additional exhibitor associates are required to register as aGeneral Attendee.
  • To further raise the profile of your company, please consider a sponsorship opportunity. Note: This will be an additional cost.

General Terms

  • For each booth reserved, payment is required with reservation. Payment must be made in US dollars as noted in the Registration Form or by credit card.
  • Refund Policy:An administration fee of $250 will be withheld for any cancellation received in writing prior to September 30, 2017. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after this date.
  • The symposium reserves the right to approve the character of any display and to prohibit any display that, because of noise or other objectionable features, detracts from the scientific and educational nature of the exhibit.
  • During the hours the exhibit is open, each booth must be attended by persons technically qualified to explain and demonstrate the equipment or services displayed.
  • The use of dangerous material or inflammable fluids is forbidden.

  • Welcome Reception ($2,500 US):This evening reception will be held on Sunday, October 29. This event is open to all symposium attendees and exhibitors. Support will be acknowledged with signage at the reception, recognition on the symposium website and four (4) free symposium registrations.
  • Platinum ($2,000 US):Includes recognition on the symposium website and three (3) free symposium registrations.
  • Gold ($1,500 US):Includes recognition on the symposium website and two (2) free symposium registrations.
  • Silver ($1,000 US):Includes recognition on the symposium website and one (1) free symposium registrations.
  • Bronze ($500 US):Only includes recognition on the symposium website.

Note:Each free symposium registration listed above includes the welcome reception, coffee breaks, (3) lunches, evening dinner, NSLS-II facility tour and symposium materials.There will be an additional cost if you wish to bring other people to the symposium.
