Michael joined the AGS Department in 1991. He was involved in commissioning the AGS booster, operation of the AGS, the design of the Spallation Neutron Source, and the design and commissioning of RHIC. His research has mainly focused on theory and experiment associated with collective instabilities, radio frequency systems and stochastic cooling. Before joining EIC he was the accelerator physics head for RHIC.
