Scott is a mechanical engineer working on the design of beamlines and beamline instruments. Scott is also the engineering point-of-contact for the Complex Scattering group of beamlines.
Scott started working at BNL in 1986 as a technician at the (now closed) High-Flux Beam Reactor, employed by the University of Pennsylvania to assist users of the H4S neutron spectrometer. Scott became a BNL employee in 1989, joining the Physics Department's X-Ray Scatting Group to work on the X22B and X22C X-Ray beamlines at the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS). Scott joined the NSLS2 project in 2009 as a beamline engineer, responsible for the IXS project beamline.
