I am an experimental physicist in the world-class scientific research facility, the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL, New York). Since 1998 until today, I have contributed significantly to the success of the RHIC physics program, first with the PHOBOS experiment (1998-2006), after with the PHENIX experiment (2006-2016), and presently with the sPHENIX experiment (2016 to present).   My  work and leadership roles have contributed to all aspects of the experimental physics processes. The breadth of my contributions ranges from design and construction of silicon semiconductor particle tracking detectors, analysis of data leading to physics results, and their theoretical interpretation, and multiple publications in peer review journals, thus, helping to make BNL the successful laboratory it is today.  Based on my achievements in both the PHOBOS and PHENIX experiments at RHIC, I was  elected as a 2017 Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) with the following citation: "For his role in the discovery of the Quark Gluon Plasma at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, using particle multiplicity density and heavy quark measurements in the PHOBOS and PHENIX detectors, with leading contributions to the silicon tracker design, construction, and operation and data analyses."
